Medical science

Techniques Aims & Objectives The program of Medical Sciences department gives students the opportunity to earn the Diploma Degree within two years, two semesters for each year.

Medical Science Students

Throughout the entire four semesters, each with five to six courses, the Medical Laboratory Technique Program provides the highest standards of learning. The faculty are committed to prepare Competent Medical Laboratory Technician with the necessary skills, attitudes and professional integrity to become contributing professionals in the health care community.

The students undergo training in all fields of laboratory medicine (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Medical Lab Instruments, Hematology, Bacteriology, Cytogenetics, Immunology & Serology, Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Mycology and Virology respectively).

What Our Students Have to Learn

Identify and describe the levels of organization of the human body, systems, and organs physiology. Gain a basic working knowledge of chemical concepts and techniques which will be necessary for future scientific accomplishments.
Develop student understanding about basic medical terms. Apply the knowledge to understand the microbial physiology and to identify the microorganisms.
Isolating and characterizing proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. Describe each lab instrument functions, structure and use them properly, and Understanding basic structure of cells and tissues in body and see them under microscope.
Understand the principles of Hematology, both blood physiology, functions, and Describe sampling, general characteristics, classification, pathogenesis, virulence factors and mode of transmission of each pathogenic bacteria.

In order for the students to value, respect and protect the right, welfare, patient confidentiality and privacy, The program provide many courses and seminars about Medical Laboratory Ethics.

After completing two years of Medical Laboratory Technique course successfully, the graduates will be capable of working efficiently in public health laboratories as well as the private sectors, under different specialties of Laboratory Medicine.
